Can someone please put me out of my misery with this Gelechid although I realise the photo leaves something to be desired? I'm wondering if it is maybe a Carpatolechia or Caryocolum. Any help would be gratefully received.

Ian,

Almost certainly a dissection job to confirm but I'd say it was most likely to be Altenia scriptella.

I saw Harry at Bishop Wood last Saturday night and left four specimens with him including this moth that was still alive. He felt in the flesh that Carpatolechia decorella was most likely. However, he has since GDed it as a female Carpatolechia fugitivella, which is what Steve suggested it might be. Only the second VC61 record.
