I've just listened to a programme on Radio 4, "A guide to Woodland Birds", which broke through the gloomy weather we're experiencing at the moment. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be one you can listen to again, but it's on at 3:45pm for 15 minutes each afternoon this week.

Hi Nigel

If you go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/guidewoodlandbirds/ you can listen to them all online. They're .ram files so are streaming so you'll need real player to listen AFAIK. Unfortunately, at the moment my real player install wondwork on 64bit - will have to go download a new version. I'm also recording the others on the Humax.

Hi Liz, thanks very much for the link. That's brilliant, as at the foot of the article it got links to even more and with my woeful birdsong recognition skills I do need to listen to them again and again and . . .

Oooh, thanks for the posts, sounds good! I will have to see if I can listen to them at another time then as that thing called 'work' gets in the way when its on lol.

Well! we can say that we can 'listen again' as many times as we wish  You folk are missing a trick if you don't have a Robert's DAB radio with SD card programming facility. We wouldn't be without it - listen every night whilst relaxed in any room of our choosing, to any programme that we have chosen ;) Up to 12 programmes can be entered at any time; we currently have over 30 on the card. Certainly, with the rubbish on tv lately, this is a necessary piece of kit. Jean & Graham
