Notes: Locally common in woodland, feeding on pollen of oak, sycamore and other plants. The larval food is apparently unknown, probably minute particles of leaf litter or possibly fungal hyphae - larvae have been found up to 10cm deep in stony woodland soil. UK distribution: Throughout England as far north as the Lake District and Northumberland. Rare in Scotland and absent from Ireland. | Flightime guide | | J | F | M | A | M | J | J | A | S | O | N | D | | | | | | | | | | | | |
