Notes: A diurnal species which is also attracted to light, it is common to abundant on the mainland wherever deciduous oaks occur; in dull weather it rests on the trunks and branches of oak trees. The larva mines leaves of oak from May to July.
UK distribution: Probably in every oak wood throughout Britain as far north as Ross and Cromarty, also in Ireland.
