Notes: A local species of Oak or more occasionally Sweet Chestnut on the mainland; very rare on the Isle of Wight. Adult moths are taken occasionally at dusk, but more often encountered as mines in September through November.
UK distribution: widespread but very local as far north as the Lake District.
