Notes: Formerly abundant in the New Forest up until the early years of the 20th century, where it frequented woodland rides and woodland clearings. Now extinct in England, possibly through over-collecting. Confined in Britain now to one or two cliff ledges at one site in western Scotland. A Red Data Book species and legally protected. Flies during day; June to July. Larva July to early June, over-wintering at least once, feeding on Bird's-foot Trefoil and Meadow Vetchling. Wingspan 22-32mm.
