Notes: Common, throughout the British Isles. Wingspan 32-44mm. Flies during day; July to August. Frequents fens, damp woodland, open woodland, heaths, moorland and hedgerows. Larva August to April, over-wintering twice. Larva feeds within wo od of Sallow, Poplar and Willow.
