Notes: Common, England and Scotland, but not in the north. Wingspan 10-13mm. Case 12mm. Nocturnal; July to August. Frequents roadside verges and waste ground. Larva August to October and (after diapause) April to May. Larva mines leaves of C reeping Thistle and Black Knapweed, living and feeding in a movable case.
