Notes: Common, southern England and Wales, with records as far north as Cheshire. Wingspan 12-16mm. Flies at dusk; July to August. Frequents chalk downland and woodland on chalky soils. Larva feeds within seedheads of Ox-ton gue, Smooth Hawksbeard, Beaked Hawksbeard, Rough Hawksbeard and Marsh Hawksbeard.
