0998 Light Brown Apple Moth (Epiphyas postvittana) (Walker, 1863) - (Tortricidae / Tortricinae)

Notes: A native of Australia, first reported from Cornwall in 1936. It has since expanded its range across most of the country, and can be abundant where it occurs. The larva is polyphagous on a wide range of plants, and shows a preference for urban gardens, being still relatively rare away from towns. Despite it's common name, it's neither light brown, nor in my experience particularly fond of apple!
