Notes: Nationally rare, southern England, predominantly coastal. Wingspan 22-27mm. Females nocturnal, males fly during the day; June to August. Frequents shingle beaches, sand-dunes, sand-hills, chalky ground and dry open areas. Larva feeds on various mosses, often on the ground.
