Notes: Common, England and western Scotland. Wingspan 23-26mm. Flies at dusk; mid-May to mid-August. Frequents open woodland, mature hedgerows, scrubby heathland, moorland and grassland. Larva late June to early October, over-wintering as a pupa. Larva feeds on Downy Birch, Silver Birch, Hazel, Hawthorn and Blackthorn.
