Notes: Recorded infrequently as a result of accidental importation in shipments of produce, North America. Wingspan 84-104mm. Nocturnal; October. Frequents container ports, fruit and vegetable wholesalers and supermarkets. Larva - no evidence of breeding in the UK. Larva feeds on Sweet Potato and various fruits and vegetables, causing sufficient damage to be a serious pest in some areas.
