Notes: Nationally rare, south-western England, north-western England and western Scotland, spreading into eastern Britain. Wingspan 41-46mm. Flies during day; May to June. Frequents unimproved grassland, calcerous grassland and chalk downl and. Larva mid-June to mid-August, over-wintering as a pupa. Larva feeds on Devil's Bit Scabious, Small Scabious and Field Scabious.
