Status: Vagrant/Accidental
Notes: Very rare immigrant, mainland Europe, appearing as a migrant on the south coast of Britain. Wingspan 46-50mm. Nocturnal; May and August. Frequents damp woodland and bogs. Larva July and late August to September, over-wintering as a pupa, ve ry limited evidence of breeding in the UK. Larva feeds on Aspen, White Poplar, Black Poplar, Silver Birch and Downy Birch.
