Status: Rare migrant
Notes: Very rare immigrant, mainland Europe, appearing as a migrant on the south coast of Britain. Wingspan 54-62mm. Nocturnal; April to June and late August to September, just one generation in the north. Frequents woodland, plantations, parkland , parks and gardens. Larva June to July and late August to September, over-wintering as a pupa, very limited evidence of breeding in the UK. Larva feeds on Aspen, Black Poplar and White Poplar.
