Status: Vagrant/Accidental
Notes: Very rare immigrant, mainland Europe, appearing as a migrant on the south coast of Britain. Wingspan 50-60mm. Nocturnal; May to June. Frequents woodland and areas with scattered trees. Larva June to August, over-wintering as a pupa, no evid ence of breeding in the UK. Larva feeds on Evergreen Oak, Beech, Hornbeam, Silver Birch and Downy Birch.
