2079 Scarce Black Arches (Nola aerugula) (Hübner, 1793) - (Nolidae / Nolinae)


Status: Extinct
Notes: Rare immigrant, northern Europe, appearing as a migrant on the south coast of Britain. Wingspan 15-20mm. Nocturnal; late June to early August. Frequents sand-dunes and sand-hills; 0-50m. Larva August to June, very limited evidence of bre eding in the UK. Larva feeds on Common Bird's-foot Trefoil, Red Clover, White Clover and Hare's-foot Clover.
