Notes: Still resident on the Isle of Wight, it was previously known from one locality in the New Forest and Botley Wood. It has last seen in the latter locality in 1961. Apparently, attempts are under way to reintroduce the moth to the mainland. Note: this species is protected by the Wildlife and Countryside Act, 1981. It is illegal to collect or disturb it in any of its stages.
