Notes: Recorded infrequently as a result of accidental importation in shipments of asparagus, North America. Wingspan 30-39mm. Nocturnal, may fly during the day; August to September, also at other times of the year. Frequents fruit and vegetable wholesalers and supermarkets. Larva - no evidence of breeding in the UK. Larva feeds on Sweet Potato, Tomato, Tobacco, Cotton and Leguminosae, causing sufficient damage to be a serious pest in some areas.
