Notes:
Nationally scarce (Nb) in fens, river-banks and marshes in parts of Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Cambridgeshire. In Hampshire recorded recently only at Mapledurwell Fen. On the Isle of Wight recorded on Tennyson Down in 1984, but not since. Wingspan 4-5 mm. Adults difficult to distinguish from other Stigmella species, and more frequently recorded in the larval stage, when mines are relatively easy to find where they are present. Larva mines leaves of Meadowsweet, over-wintering as a pupa.
