Nationally scarce (Nb) in woodland, heathland, downland, marshes, river-banks and damp areas throughout much of England, Wales, southern Scotland and western Ireland. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 4.3-5.1 mm. Larva mines leaves of Hawthorn, over-wintering as a pupa.
