Nationally scarce (Nb) in woodland and scrub throughout mainland Britain, as far north as Ross. In Hampshire very few records from the south, and one from the north. Recorded on the Isle of Wight at Bouldnor in 1978, but not since. Wingspan 12-15 mm. Larva feeds within buds of Wild Rose and Cultivated Rose.
