Nationally scarce (Nb) in grassland throughout much of Britain, more numerous in the north. In Hampshire extremely rare, with one at Itchen Abbas in 1969 and one at Pigbush in the New Forest in 1994. Not recorded from the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 9-12 mm. Larva mines stems of various grasses.
