Rare (proposed as a future Red Data Book species) on downland in southern England and in open woodland in northern Scotland where the foodplant occurs (MBGBI Vol 3). The only Hampshire record is of one beaten from Juniper at Stockbridge in 1976. Not recorded from the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 9-10 mm. Larva feeds within berries of Juniper, over-wintering as a prepupa.
