0437a Swammerdamia passerella (Zetterstedt, 1839) - (Yponomeutidae / Yponomeutinae)

 

Notes: Vulnerable (proposed as a future Red Data Book species) on mountains at 300-700 m in the Highlands of Scotland (MBGBI Vol 3). Unlikely to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 8.5-11 mm. Larva mines leaves of Dwarf Birch, beneath a silken web, often several together, over-wintering as a pupa in a cocoon.
