0638 Denisia augustella (Hübner, 1796) - (Oecophoridae / Oecophorinae)

Notes: Extinct in the British Isles, formerly confined to woodland in parts of Surrey. Unlikely to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 9-12 mm. Similar to D. albimaculea, which see for differences. Larva feeds within bark of European Larch, forming inconspicuous silken galleries.
