Endangered (proposed as a future Red Data Book species) in birch woodland in parts of the Scottish Highlands, at Rannoch (Perthshire), Glen Affric (Inverness-shire) and, most recently, Deeside (Aberdeenshire). Unlikely to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 20-23 mm. Larva feeds on Birch, living between leaves spun together with silk.
