Classification

Family:Blastobasidae
Subfamily:Blastobasinae
Genus:Auximobasis
Species:normalis
Authority:Meyrick, 1918

Occurrence in the British Isles unconfirmed. A native of South America, known in Britain from a single specimen found on a dock wall in Liverpool in September 1921. The specimen has not been found and the difficulty in identifying the species without examination of the genitalia, suggests that this species should be deleted from the British list. Larva feeds on stored goods; no evidence of breeding in the UK.
