Notes:
Nationally scarce (Nb) in dry pastures and downland in parts of the British Isles. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 15-24 mm. Differs from A. hartmanniana by its larger size, the generally darker coloration of the forewing, the more strongly angulate median fascia, and the silver-white spots which usually do not form continuous striae [Bradley]. Larva feeds on Devil's-bit Scabious.
