Temporarily established through accidental importation in tropical plants from North America. Discovered in late December 1987 in the Palm House at Stapeley Water Gardens, Cheshire, where previously stocked with infected plants from Maryland in Florida, subsequently recorded in large numbers. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 13-17 mm. No evidence of breeding in the UK.
