Notes:
Local in fens, marshes, damp heathland and mosses throughout the British Isles. In Hampshire local, but seldom recorded and apparently associated with Grey Willow growing in rather dry places. Not recorded from the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 14-20 mm. Reminiscent of A. uncella in forewing pattern but a smaller species and differs in having the pre-tornal marking obsolescent or obsolete [Bradley]. Larva feeds on Eared Willow and Grey Willow, living between leaves spun together with silk, and over-wintering in a cocoon.
