Local on dry pastures in England north of Staffordshire, Scotland where common on the east coast, and Wales. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 10-14 mm. Dark, with orange-ochreous irroration in distal half of forewing and pale ochreous-yellow medio-dorsal blotch [Bradley]. Larva feeds within roots of Yarrow and Tansy.
