1353 Oligostigma bilinealis Snellen, 1876 - (Crambidae / Nymphulinae)

 

Status: Vagrant/Accidental
Notes: Accidentally introduced in aquatic plants from the Far East. A single dead specimen was found in a strip-light insect-trap at an aquatic nursery in Alresford, Hampshire in 1977, with a second specimen at Bolton, Lancashire on 26 August 1983. Not recorded from the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 14-17 mm. Larva feeds on water plants.
