Status: Migrant
Notes: Rare immigrant to southern and western England from southern Europe. In Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight irregular in appearance, mainly on or near to the coast, occurring on average no more than once or twice every five years. Wingspan 29-37 mm. Hindwing orange-yellow with blackish border, a feature which renders the species unmistakable [Goater]. Larva feeds on herbaceous plants, no evidence of breeding in the UK.
