1448 Selagia argyrella ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775) - (Pyralidae / Phycitinae)

 

Status: Vagrant/Accidental
Notes: Recorded infrequently through accidental importation. This Asian species is included on the British list on the basis of two specimens in the BMNH: one from Shoeburyness in 1880 and one without further data. Wingspan 29-34 mm. Larva feeds on Heather, living within a silken tube or tent, no evidence of breeding in the UK.
