Nationally scarce (Nb) in fens and marshes and widely distributed albeit local throughout the British Isles, although apparently absent from mainland Scotland. In Hampshire it has been recorded from the Lower Test and the western fringes of the New Forest. Recorded on the Isle of Wight for the first, and so far only, time at Freshwater in 1951. Wingspan 19-29 mm. Larva feeds on flowers, stems and leaves of Marsh Ragwort
