A North American species which is established on Madeira and other Atlantic Islands. One was captured at light in Middlesex in June 1973, where it is presumed to have originated from Heathrow Airport. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 25-27 mm. Similar to Many-lined C. polygrammata, but cross-lines much straighter in the latter species.
