Nationally scarce (Nb) on moorland, grassland and roadside verges in parts of Scotland and in Cumbria, with occasional wanderers on the south coast and elsewhere. Not recorded in Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Wingspan 20-24 mm. Fairly unmistakable. Larva feeds on flowers and seeds of Eyebright, over-wintering as a pupa.
