Notes: Common, throughout the British Isles. Wingspan 36-45mm. Nocturnal; June to August. Frequents broad-leaved woodland and wooded heathland. Larva August to May. Larva feeds on Foxglove, Bilberry, Heather, Sallow, Bramble, Silver Birch and Downy Birch.
