Notes:
Common, in oak woodland, broad-leaved woodland and parks, throughout much of southern England and Wales. In Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight, following a period of scarcity during the post-War years, this species has recovered quite well and is now not uncommon in oak woodland in all three vice-counties. In the New Forest it reportedly can often be found resting on pine trunks in mixed woodland. Wingspan 37-42mm. The most likely confusion species is Blair's Shoulder-knot L. leautieri, which see for differences. Larva feeds on Pedunculate Oak and Sessile Oak.
