Very rare immigrant (less than 10 previous UK records) from Africa, appearing on the south coast, the first British specimen was taken at Bodinnick, Cornwall on 3 May 1958, a time of much migrant activity, with no further records to date. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 28-36 mm. Larva feeds on various herbaceous plants; no evidence of breeding in the UK.
