Local on heathland, dry pastures and other open areas throughout much of the British Isles. In Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight restricted to a handful of sites, mostly on Portsea and Hayling Islands, but also at Leckford, Wickham Common and in the Hook Valley. Wingspan 9-12 mm. Imago is the whitest of the Opostegidae. Larva mines leaves of Sheep's Sorrel.
