Vulnerable (proposed as a future Red Data Book species) in areas where lichens and moss are common; the distribution in Britain is imperfectly known owing to confusion with related species. In Hampshire known only from Hilsea, Portsmouth. Not recorded from the Isle of Wight to date. Male unknown, female wingless. Larva feeds on lichens growing on tree trunks, fence posts and old walls, living within a movable case.
