Vulnerable (proposed as a future Red Data Book species) on saltmarshes in south-eastern England, from Hampshire to Suffolk. Not recorded from the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan male 8-10 mm, female wingless. The male flies in sunshine. Larva feeds on Common Saltmarsh-grass, living within a movable case; case length 8-12 mm.
