Local in damp shady places throughout much of England, more numerous in the south. In Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight local but probably overlooked, especially on the Island. Wingspan 8-9 mm. Similar to Eudarcia richardsoni, which see. The larva feeds in a silken tube amongst lichens growing on shaded walls and rocks, sometimes on tree-trunks.
