Vulnerable (proposed as a future Red Data Book species) in bird nests and woodland in parts of England, but extent of distribution poorly known owing to confusion in the past with other related species. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 11-16 mm. Larva feeds on detritus in bird nests, decaying vegetable matter, dead wood and various fungi.
