Recorded once, in Glasgow in ca. 1946, possibly in a cargo of horn from India or Sri Lanka. Found in a series of C. orientalis, but larger and more yellowish than that species. Larva feeds on hooves and horns of dead animals and discarded horns. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date.
