Nationally scarce (Na) on embankments, roadside verges and rough ground in Co. Durham, the central and eastern Highlands of Scotland, south-western Scotland, the Isle of Man and Ireland (MBGBI Vol 3). Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 17-21 mm. Larva feeds on Dame's-violet, beneath a silken web.
