Endangered (proposed as a future Red Data Book species) in open woodland, the distribution imperfectly known due to confusion with related species. Unlikely to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 12-15 mm. The most likely confusion species are C. blandelloides and C. huebneri, which see for differences. Larva mines leaves of Greater Stitchwort and Bog Stitchwort, subsequently living within a spinning.
